Chocolate-Dipped Yogurt Bites & This or That Quiz

I love quick and easy snacks. I especially love when they are healthy. ESPECIALLY when they also taste sinful. Like these little babies.. I used to make frozen yogurt bites all the time. I usually used Yoplait flavored yogurt though. That was before I realized the horrible additives pretty much everything has. So this time I used plain Greek yogurt.

The beauty of plain yogurt is that you can flavor is however you want. Want to add honey? Go for it. Cinnamon? You got it. And thanks to flavored liquid Stevia, you are able to flavor your yogurt whatever you want while adding sweetness without the calories of processed sugars.

Now take it a step further and dip the creation in melted chocolate. Can you say healthy heaven? Mmmm..

And then there’s one of those “This or That” quizzes on the bottom of the post. I’ve been seeing them around quite a bit and I thought, might as well.

Chocolate-Dipped Yogurt Bites

Adapted from Lean Green Bean.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1/4-1/3 cup rice krispies cereal (no salt or sugar added)
  • 8 drops Vanilla Creme Sweetleaf Stevia
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
Directions:
Combine the first three ingredients and mix together well. Divide the mixture between ice cube trays and stick in the freezer for a couple of hours, preferably overnight.
Then take the yogurt cubes out, as you would with ice cubes.
Melt chocolate in a microwave on 30 second intervals, making sure to mix in between so you don’t burn it.
Dip one end of each yogurt cube into the chocolate and let stand. Microwave the chocolate again to melt it if it cools too much from the frozen cubes. Continue until you have dipped all of your yogurt cubes.
Put on a plate and put them back in the freezer. After an hour, put the cubes in a ziplock bag. Keep in the freezer.

I saw this quiz on Half Baked‘s blog and I kinda wanted to do it too. So there goes:

Coke or Pepsi?
Neither – I gave up drinking pop about 5 years ago. I haven’t looked back since. The only time I’m “okay” with drinking anything carbonated is with alcohol. And still, I try to stay away from that even then. But I am more lenient when it comes to mixed drinks.
Lemonade or Fruit Punch?
Honestly, I don’t really drink any flavored liquids. I drink water and tea. That’s about it. I very rarely ever drink juice or lemonade. I don’t want to put any of the extra sugars in my body and I don’t like wasting my calorie allowances (if I’m counting) on liquids (except smoothies, that is).
Caramel Apple or Cotton Candy?
Both are pretty much too sweet for me. I don’t like cotton candy because it’s all sugar and it’s sticky. I like apples but eating a caramel apple is way too messy too. Wow, I didn’t realize how picky I was until this survey. Lol jeez!
Butterfinger or Snickers?
Snickers. I’m not a big fan of the texture of a Butterfinger – too crunchy/crumbly.
Pudding and Jell-O?
Pudding for sure! Although I like Jell-O too.
Turkey or Chicken?
I don’t eat chicken ever (because of my blood type). I do like Turkey, however, I’ve been (accidentally) vegetarian for a month now.
American or Provolone Cheese?
Provolone all the way! And Mozzarella. I hear the lighter the color, the less processed it is?
Crackers or Cookies?
Cookies definitely. I have an (unfortunate) sweet tooth.
Pretzels or Chips?
Pretzels. I really never eat chips. Too salty & fatty for me.
Mexican food or Japanese food?
Japanese for sure although I do like me an occasional burrito (bowl)
Chinese food or Italian food?
I don’t like either. Both are too fatty. When I first came to the US, I fell in love with Chinese. SO GOOD. Chinese buffets all the way. Omg I can’t believe I ever did that. So fattening and unhealthy. Then I liked Italian but I haven’t had a big thing for pasta or even grain and starch for about 2 years now so I’m not a big fan of that either now. I don’t like that they put all pasta and barely any veggies. I like my veggies dammit!
Pie or Cake?
Cake, just because I grew up with it. We didn’t have pie in Poland. Although I like pie now but I still think a much larger chunk of my heart belongs to cake.
Ice cream or Cookies?
Damn. If this was to say frozen yogurt instead of ice cream, then that would be my absolute definite choice. I have to say cookies for this one.
Pasta or Pizza?
Pizza. Although I’m not a HUGE fan but I do get a craving for it occasionally.
Soda or Juice?
Freshly squeezed juice, yes. Or those freshly squeezed veggie/fruit juices my parents make with that big juicer machine. Those are good. Although the only time I ever drink those are when I’m over at their house. They make me drink it haha.
Chocolate Bars or Chocolate Truffles?
Truffles! Mmm melting in your mouth. So good!
Apples or Bananas?
I love BOTH! Both are so different, I just can’t choose one or the other.
Salad or Soup?
Salad. Although I do like homemade soup a whole lot, especially my mom’s. Oh my god, amazing. If this was a contest between my MOTHER’s soup and general salad – my mother’s soup would win.
Cauliflower or Broccoli?
I like them both. Both are very different again. I like cauliflower raw better though, I think.
Onion Rings or French Fries?
French fries. Better yet, sweet potato french fries! I never got into the whole onion rings thing.
Blizzard or McFlurry?
Neither.
Fried or Poached Eggs?
Fried.
Crepes or Pancakes?
Crepes. I just recently started liking pancakes and I’ve loved sweet crepes for much longer.
Hash browns or Roasted Potatoes?
Roasted for sure. Although hash browns are good for hangover breakfast. Or for me, anyway.
Oatmeal or Cereal?
Oatmeal. I do put cereal in my yogurt quite frequently. But if I was to eat it plain with just almond milk, it’s pretty boring.

  1. Those are gorgeous :D. I ought to do a quiz :D. Nice to find out a little more about you… I agree with most of them, but I hate bananas that are untouched. The texture is horrible.

    • By untouched you mean just raw bananas, right? Damn, I guess the texture is weird for me too when they are overripe cause they become too soft. I love them when they are just perfectly ripe, yellow with barely any spots, for when I’m to eat them by themselves.

  2. Hash browns or Roasted Potatoes?
“Roasted for sure. Although hash browns are good for hangover breakfast.”

Gotta love a girl who knows what’s good for hangover breakfast 🙂
